Recently I’ve added a whitewashed floor made out of repurposed wood to my studio. The floor inspired this simple white set up with flower hoops to decorate the backdrop. I was absolutely thrilled when Elise’s mom loved this simple set up idea for her first birthday milestone portraits and cake smash session. I couldn’t wait to make my make my vision come to life in Elise’s first birthday milestone portraits. I’m not much of a crafter but I decided to make the flower hoops to decorate the backdrop myself. After looking up few helpful tutorials on Pinterest, and a trip to Michaels for supplies I got to work. I must say that after figuring out the logistics of a glue gun I really loved the creative process of making them. Two or three more trips to Michaels and Hobby Lobby and I made 4 different sets of flower hoops!
After portraits and a first birthday cake smash, we photographed little Elise in a lavender milk bath and she loved every minute of it! I used fresh lavender from my backyard for the milk bath and of course, made matching lavender flower hoops and a lavender flower crown. I’m obsessed with how adorable she looks in this flower bonnet. I don’t think it can get any cuter than a sweet little girl in a fun flower bonnet. I must also mention that we photographed Elise’s entire session including portraits of two outfits, cake smash, and a milk bath in all in under one hour!!!!!!!!
